This is the conclusion I came to this week. Wednesday, I was in a car crash that could have been much, much worse than it was. Thankfully, I escaped with barely any injuries, and I am incredibly thankful for that and have realized how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away. It was a horrifying experience, and yet it served to show me that we all need a wake-up call every now and then.

As for an update on me; I'm currently attending college majoring in Art and probably getting a degree in education so I can teach art as well as create it. I love helping people and bringing my influences to others, so I feel as though that will definitely be something I'll enjoy. I'm also playing soccer with an awesome team at college. It was different playing with people I've never met before when I'd played with my high school team most of my entire life, so it is certainly a heartening experience. Alongside that, I'm also coaching a team of 9-10 year old players and they absolutely amazing.

College life is hectic; tons of paintings due all the time, plus papers, homework, and the like from other classes filling up my time. The hectic and busy schedule is what led to my crash, and I've realized that I need to prioritize things and spend more time resting and eating regularly rather than be on the go 24/7.

In any case, hope you all are doing fantastic; it's been a while since I've heard from tons of you. It's really unfortunate how distant people become as they grow older and away from communities. I really miss talking to a lot of people I've met online.

Good to hear you're doing okay, and good luck on your endeavors! Though I can't say I know much about you personally, I've always admired your art, especially how you do backgrounds. I'm completely worthless at that stuff. It would be great to be an art teacher, and I hope you make it through.

Glad to hear you're OK after that scary incident. I agree that the occasional reminder of the value and fragility of life can do us all some good. It sounds like you're making impressive progress on your college and extracurricular work.

Just wondering: Do you still use MSN or AIM or anything like that any more? I still have some of your old contacts, but I don't know if you use them these days, now that you're busier.

Ahh thanks man, yeah, life definitely is fragile. I appreciate every second of it. College life is going well, yes, and I've completed so many paintings. I'm going to have to get them uploaded here sooner or later.

As for my contacts, I use skype mostly these days, as it's chat function is better than MSN and AIM's. Otherwise, mainly Twitter and Facebook are my main social resources. My skype is dex-art, if you have one!

Good to hear from you, sir! :D

Yeah, am glad you're alright. Very lucky to come out of a crash alive. And things like that do change your viewpoint on life. Had a few myself.

And I know exactly what you mean about teaching and coaching. I'm doing volunteer teaching assistant work at a local primary school gaining the skills and experience to become a qualified TA and then eventually in time a teacher mainly specializing in art and history. The school is for ages 5-10 and it's been a real joy helping out and feels very rewarding helping the kids learn about things and teaching the younger ones to read and write. It's a great feeling to know you're having a positive influence on someone and these kids are so full of imagination and creativity it's a different thing every time (and they come out with some strange questions too).

You're an excellent artist and I reckon any kids getting taught art by you are damn lucky. And teaching sports is good too (keep the kids from getting fat which seems to be a problem in my country anyways) and also about teamwork and confidence. Good luck with it all. :)

Oh yeah definitely, it's a life changing experience.

And wow, that's awesome! That feeling of seeing a child succeed because of your guidance is just amazing. I think any kids being taught by you will be quite lucky as well! It's good to see more teachers that are actually passionate about the job getting involved in the industry; I think it will make a difference.

And thanks so much for the compliment, I really appreciate it man. Keep it touch!

Thanks. Yeah I'm looking at doing the part time college course to get actual qualifications in teaching and learning support.
