serenity

hey, everyone, long time no post! I've just recently graduated from high school and I'll be heading to college to major in art! it's been a while since I've actually posted here and I just hope everyone is doing well and, from what I've seen, the excellence of the art here is still going strong! my senior year of high school was a fantastic one, filled with many achievements in art, sports, and whatnot, and I have to say I'm really excited about things from here on out.

this piece was one I've been working on for a good while now. it's more of a backdrop or something of the like than an actual scene, as it doesn't quite have a focus or a real story to tell. it was definitely somewhat of a stress reliever, as I would always work on this specific piece when I was feeling down or distressed, rather than a few other pieces I'm still working on. it was based off of the top of a few distant trees around a friends' house, and I really like the contrast between the crowded, overgrown trees and the open blue sky. the real meaning behind this piece is just that nature is serenity. nature is calm, and the world is bright. anyways, I hope you all like it as much as I do-- pixeling the flora was a ton of fun.
